Rescue Operation in Cologne: Woman Pulled from Rhine in Large-scale Operation

During a rescue operation near the Rheinauhafen in Cologne’s old town, a woman was pulled out of the Rhine on Tuesday afternoon.

The Cologne fire brigade responded at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27, after a woman was spotted in the Rhine. A helicopter, among other things, was used in the immediately initiated search operation.

After a short time, the woman was located with the help of the lifeboats and brought ashore. She was treated on the spot by rescue workers and then taken to a nearby hospital. The police initially gave no information on the condition of the woman.

Why she was in the Rhine at all is also the subject of the investigation. The rescue operation was over by 6:45 p.m.
