A little after half past ten on Wednesday evening, a SAR Queen helicopter was observed at Ballstad.
– It is true that we have a helicopter at Ballstad. We have received a message from a group of five who were on a trip to Ballstadheia. One of the five is said to be injured. Whether the helicopter will take all five is not yet clear, says the on-duty rescue manager at HRS.
He states that crews from the Vestvågøy Red Cross are also on their way to the site to assist.
– They have set up a lifeguard, says a witness.
At 10.16 pm the witness reports that a person has been hoisted into the helicopter.
– It is now leaving Ballstad, and seems to be flying towards Bodø, says the witness.
At 20.21, HRS confirms that the helicopter is on its way to Bodø.
– They have got the injured person on board and are flying to Bodø. There should be no question of life-threatening injuries. The other four in the following go down themselves, says the guard at HRS
Ballstadheia is located directly above Kræmmervika. The witness says that the tour group was directly below the chain of the path that goes up to the heath.
