Rescue of people after complex subsequent extinguishing in collector’s apartment in Linz – Fireworld.at

LINZ (Upper Austria): The Linz professional fire brigade was alerted to the fire in an apartment building at 7:38 p.m. on January 13, 2022 in Sattlerstraße.

When the fire brigade arrived, a fire was found in an apartment on the first floor of an apartment building.

There was no one left in the apartment that was on fire. The rescue service was already caring for two people at this point.

The fire was fought in the affected apartment by a respiratory protection team. At the same time, the stairwell was kept smoke-free by installing a pressure ventilation device. Another respiratory protection squad checked the stairwell and all apartments.

Two other people were rescued by firefighters. Thanks to the rapid deployment of the fire brigade and the exemplary behavior of the other residents, the fire was limited to the affected apartment and could be extinguished quickly. However, the subsequent extinguishing work was very time-consuming due to the large number of collector’s items in the apartment that was on fire.

The apartment is currently not habitable. Most of the residents of the building were able to remain in their apartments during the fire brigade operation. The cause of the fire is still unclear for the time being.

A total of four people were treated by paramedics. On the part of the professional fire brigade Linz, 24 people with seven vehicles were on duty for around two and a half hours. A fire watch is carried out by the fire brigade during the night hours.
