Iraqi authorities rescued a 10-year-old boy from brutal torture at the hands of his drug-addicting father, who hung him from a chain attached to the ceiling of the room.
According to what Iraqi media quoted from a source in the Iraqi Interior Ministry, the intervention to save the boy came in the context of following up on cases of domestic violence, and in response to an appeal received by the Family and Child Protection Department on the Karkh side of Baghdad, with the boy hanging from a chain on the ceiling of a house.

After obtaining judicial approvals, the authorities released the boy and arrested the accused, after forming a specialized work team and moving to the scene of the accident in coordination with the police. The house was searched, the boy was released and his father, who had abused him, was arrested.
It turned out that the accused was a drug user, and various narcotic substances were seized from his home, as well as a Kalashnikov rifle and ammunition.
The necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, and the seized materials were dealt with duly.
