The departmental fire and rescue service has committed the human and material resources of the centers of Le Puy, Saint-Paulien and Allègre, following a call concerning a fall from a horse.
The victim, a 59-year-old rider, suffered from various traumas, particularly to the head and lower limbs. His horse may have fallen on him in the incident.
Faced with the difficulty of accessing the premises, in a wooded and steep area, a team specializing in rescue in perilous environments was mobilized. Air assets were also called in from Clermont-Ferrand. The civil security helicopter, Dragon 63, proceeded to hoist the victim. The latter was then medicalized on the ground, at a place called Juchet.
After being medicalized for her air transport, the fifty-year-old was transported to the hospital in Clermont-Ferrand.
His transfer was carried out in absolute urgency to the Clermont-Ferrand hospital. About fifteen sappers, placed under the command of Lieutenant Patrice Trincal, and a team from Samu 43, carried out the rescue operations.
