Rescue at Sea: Australian Sailor and Dog Survive Two Months Adrift in the Pacific Ocean

Australian sailor Tim Shaddock and his dog, Bella, have been rescued by a fishing trawler after two months missing in the Pacific Ocean in a movie-like story.

Chaddock left La Paz, Mexico, last April, heading to French Polynesia, but a storm hit a few weeks into the trip, destroying the electronics in his boat.

Tim and dog Bella survived by eating raw fish and drinking rainwater.

A doctor on the fishing vessel that rescued the sailor said Tim immediately began eating small meals, while remaining conscious of what he said and did despite his ordeal.

Shaddock said he had gone through a very difficult ordeal before being rescued by the trawler, not eating enough food for long periods.
