It is temporarily not possible to reschedule existing vaccination appointments from Monday 27 December. In this way, the call center of GGD GHOR Nederland has extra time to schedule new booster vaccinations for the elderly, so that they can come earlier.
A large part of telephone conversations is about rescheduling appointments
At the moment, 40% of all telephone calls to the National Vaccination Appointments Line are about canceling or moving appointments. This was previously 15%. This enormous increase in telephone calls has a major impact on the elderly who can only make an appointment by telephone.
Resistance has an impact on vulnerable people who have to call
People reschedule their appointment for various reasons. For example, because the time is not right, or because they want to bring their booster appointment forward. It also happens that people have already received a booster from the GP and want to cancel the appointment. Unfortunately, people who are less digitally skilled are less likely to get their turn. These are often the elderly – and therefore the most vulnerable. It may also concern people who do not have DigiD and can therefore only make an appointment by telephone.
By temporarily not reschedule appointments by telephone, the call center has the option of approaching the elderly to make an appointment – if they have not already done so. Or to bring forward the booster appointments for vulnerable seniors in certain regions.
Don’t reschedule your appointment
We ask for the understanding, solidarity and flexibility of all residents of this country in the coming period. Some may have to travel a little further to ensure that others get a booster shot faster. Perhaps the time is not convenient or it is annoying that another appointment cannot take place. Despite this call: do you have an appointment for a booster, please come. Do not reschedule your appointment. GGD GHOR is doing everything it can to offer as many people as possible a booster vaccination as soon as possible.
What if you really can’t?
It is therefore temporarily not possible to reschedule an appointment from Monday 27 December. If you really cannot come to the appointment, for example because you have corona or because of a funeral, cancel your appointment via the National Vaccination Appointment Number. You can then make a new appointment online. Keep in mind that it may not be your turn for a booster until later.
Help with making an appointment online
For some people it is difficult to make an appointment online. The libraries help with this. We also ask everyone in the Netherlands to help the elderly or less digitally skilled people. Next to it there is a explainer video created.
