The fire service is busy with many assignments on Tuesday afternoon.
After long periods of dry weather several fires have occurred around southern Norway.
Burns in several places
At Nordbykollen at Åskollen in Drammen it should be heavy smoke in the terrainthe fire brigade reports just before 17:30.
In Kodal in Sandefjord, the fire service has received assistance from fire helicopters, local actors and forest machines. Over 25 targets are injured.
The fire brigade has also moved out to Larvik where it is reported grass fire.
In Oslo, there have been several grass fires at Ellingsrud. The fires are now extinguished. The police state that they are working to find out how the fires started.
There has also been a grass fire in Bjørndal. The fire has now been extinguished thanks to residents and the fire service. Police will investigate how the fire started.
It is also in Fredrikstad reported severe forest fire.
Well visible smoke
At Tollehaugveien in Kodal in Sandefjord, the fire service is working to put out a forest fire.
First, three targets were reported that burned, and fresh wind in the area. In a couple of hours, the fire brigade has updated that 25 targets have been damaged.
– The campaign continues with assistance from forest fire helicopters, forest machines and local actors, reports Søt-Øst 110.
According to duty officer Marthin Haugen in Sør-Øst 110, the fire was increasing.
– We have received several calls about the fire, because it smokes quite well from there, the duty manager Haugen informs.
– We have a good number of crews on the way there, and it is now also requested for support from the fire helicopter.
– Is it close to buildings?
– No, basically it is not. But there is some infrastructure in the area, some radio masts that they have to watch out for.
Ask people to stay away
The helicopter will fetch water in Gallisvannet, the police say. They also ask that people stay away from the area.
The area it burns in should be a peak, and according to Haugen, they can risk it burning down on all sides.
– The most important thing now is to get enough crew and equipment in place, says duty manager Haugen.
The police state that there is no control over the fire. There should be no buildings in the area and no people have been reported injured.
The fire service is also on its way to Gamleveien in Kopstad in Horten after a report of a fire.
