Insurance companies confirm that, during the first month of the state of alarm, they have “rebounded” customer calls requesting the “workshop service” or towing service because vehicle batteries have discharged. These are above all vehicles immobilized by confinement, as explained by the Marketing Manager of Mutua Tinerfeña, Guyonne Miranda.
Miranda recommends vehicle owners to intensify maintenance and, whenever “do not skip confinement”, start cars more frequently so as not to carry surprises of this type.

However, at the same time that the accident rate on the road has decreased as traffic in the main cities has decreased -74% less traffic in Santa Cruz de Tenerife- The Marketing Manager of Mutua Tinerfeña recognizes that home claims have grown.
Guyonne Miranda explained to Radio Club Tenerife of Cadena SER that, now that the state of alarm forces us to spend more time at home, “we are discovering humidity” or we try to fix an appliance we have “overloaded” of work, as is the case of the glass-ceramic or the oven. Hence, from Mutua Tinerfeña they recommend calling insurance before launching ourselves to be a ‘handyman’.
