Lawyers from the State of Mexico and from other parts of the country have been overwhelmed to deal with the Amparos filed by parents of minors -between five and 11 years old- to receive the vaccine against Covid-19.
The president of the Association in the matter, Enrique Lazaga Yamín, assured that the amparos that have been filed come from different parts of the entity.
“Although initially we started with a free day, the demand exceeded and exceeded us, now what we are asking parents is that they take responsibility for the expenses generated by the trial itself“, external.
The foregoing, despite the fact that the entity registers the largest number of boys and girls vaccinated in the country against the new coronavirus.
“The shelters will continue to work and function, as long as the federal government does not vaccinate minors. Simply, the school in my charge has more than 2,500 cases”, he pointed.
In an interview after the signing of an agreement with the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Citizens for Mexico, he also pointed out that the efforts of this collegiate body are focusing on protecting the rights of vulnerable girls and boys in three areas: Children of immigrants , homeless and belonging to indigenous communities.
He indicated that, as the offices of the federal courts are located here, people come from different parts of the country.
The specialist recalled that, previously, the Judicial Power of the Federation had classified the vaccination of minors as an emergency situation, but unfortunately it has ceased to be so.
Despite the foregoing, he maintained that the amparo procedures are very fast, since on average they take 10 days, and most of them proceed.
However, he commented that there is the criterion of one or two judges who unfortunately do not carry the inertia of the rest of the courts, but the rest are granting amparos.
Similarly, he regretted that there are processes of this type that can become fraudulent, because there are people who take advantage of this type of situation.
“Unfortunately, as in all processes, there are people who take advantage of people and circumstances to engage in fraudulent behavior. In general terms, what we are offering parents is that they approach licensed and certified lawyers who can guarantee their work, through their affiliation with a serious Lawyers Association.“, external.
