(ANSA) – CATANZARO, NOV 11 – There is also the regional councilor of Calabria of the Lega Filippo Mancuso, designated for the presidency of the Council and former municipal councilor of Catanzaro, among the 18 people for whom the indictment was requested as part of the “Gettonopoli” investigation, which concerns the alleged undue receipt of attendance fees for the activities of the permanent commissions of the council body of the capital of Calabria.
The request for indictment was formulated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Catanzaro. The investigation was conducted by Deputy Prosecutor Giulia Pantano and Deputy Prosecutor Pasquale Mandolfino. The investigating judge, Antonella De Simone, has set the preliminary hearing for next 11 January.
The people involved in the investigation are accused, for various reasons, of the crimes of ideological falsehood and fraud.
The other people for whom the Prosecutor has asked for trial are Agazio Praticò, Antonio Mirarchi, Antonio Angotti, Manuela Costanzo, Francesca Celi, Lorenzo Costa, Roberta Gallo, Francesco Gironda, Luigi Levato, Rosario Mancuso, Giuseppe Pisano, Cristina Rotundo, Giulia Procopi, Fabio Talarico, Antonio Ursino and Enrico Consolante, all municipal councilors still in office. The indictment was also requested for Fabio Celia, who is no longer a city councilor.
The Municipality of Catanzaro, in the person of the mayor, Sergio Abramo, was identified as an offended party. According to the accusation, the presidents of the council commissions Mirarchi, Levato, Pisano, Talarico, Manuela Costanzo and Consolante and the vice-president Francesca Celi falsely attested, in the minutes of the meeting of the bodies, the holding of numerous sessions, with the participation of their own and of other councilors, when, in reality, the suspects did not participate at all or took part in it only temporarily and intermittently. Thanks to the false reports, again according to the prosecution, all the suspects would have misled the Municipality of Catanzaro (hence the dispute to all of the scam), thus obtaining the unfair profit of the payment, in their favor, by the body, attendance fees for their participation in meetings. A total damage calculated for the Municipality in 21,796 euros, with specific reference to the period between the months of November and December of 2018.
