Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik may discuss gas prices and a new pipeline with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to Moscow tomorrow, an official representative told RIA Novosti, BTA reports.
Tomorrow’s expected visit has already drawn strong criticism from the EU, which has protested the trip to Moscow of an official from a country seeking EU membership amid the conflict in Ukraine, Reuters notes.
“The price of gas will also be discussed at the meeting. I can say that the best price will probably be approved, as for friendly countries,” RIA quoted the head of the representation of Republika Srpska in Moscow, Dusko Perovic.
Ethnically divided Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have a unified opinion on foreign policy issues, with Dodik maintaining close relations with Russia and President Putin.
Perovic also said that the Bosnian government has agreed to start negotiations with Serbia to build a new gas pipeline to supply gas from Russia. Bosnia receives Russian gas through Serbia and Bulgaria from the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.
