Republican Tour: Bitam prepares to welcome Ali Bongo Ondimba – AGP

Libreville, May 31, 2023 (AGP) – The member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau (MCPBP), Charles Mve Ellah, held a meeting this Wednesday, with the cadres and activists of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) of the commune of Bitam and the department of Ntem, in Libreville. Two points on the agenda: enrollment on the electoral list and the arrival of President Ali Bongo Ondimba, in the province of Woleu-Ntem.

The member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau (MCPBP), Charles Mve Ellah, who is also Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, in charge of the Promotion of Rurality, organized a meeting with the members of the Advisory Council of Elders, the Political Bureau, the National Council, the Central Committee, parliamentarians and local elected officials, executives and activists of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) of the Commune of Bitam and the department of Ntem, in view of the visit of the head of state on his Republican tour.

The leader of the PDG in Ntem, Charles Mve Ellah invited the populations originating from the province to be enrolled in the electoral register. The latter insisted on the fact that future candidates for legislative or local elections should not put their personal interests first. But they will have to come together to ensure a cash election for the President of the Republic.

During this meeting, an observation was made, in the sense that “there is tampering at the level of the polling stations where formerly in the first seat there were 5000 voters, voters from the first seat are leaving to the second seat, simply because they were promised some money,” said one of the members. Unaware that the enrollment of both sides automatically cancels that of the individual. Which means that instead of moving forward, he finds himself at square one.

Thus, the member of the Politburo Standing Committee (MCPBP) urged people to focus on first-time voters and stop thinking about their self-interest. To this end, Charles Mve Ellah wanted things to be done in a normal way and calls for discipline.

This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss in depth the mechanisms necessary to guarantee a reception, at the height of the first authority of the country, in the province of the great North. A reflection committee has been set up to organize this event.
