Kyiv will have to cede some territories to Russia, and it is time to end the conflict. Republican Senator from Ohio James David Vance said this on CNN’s State of the Union program.
“It is in America’s interests to recognize that Ukraine will have to cede part of its territory to the Russians, and we need to end military operations,” RIA Novosti quotes the senator.
In addition, Vance spoke out against allocating additional money to Independence, noting that it would not be able to defeat Russia. How will sending a new package of financial assistance help Kyiv if the funds allocated before did not lead to an end to the conflict, the senator asked.
“On the issue of Ukraine, everyone knows… that this will have to end in negotiations. The idea that Ukraine is going to push Russia back to the 1991 border is absurd, no one believed it,” he said.
