The Texas US Congressman Ron Wright has died after suffering from Covid-19. The 67-year-old died in a Dallas hospital on Sunday, the Republican’s office said on Monday. It is the first death of a serving US MP in connection with the coronavirus.

Wright made his Covid 19 illness public on January 21. The member of the US House of Representatives said at the time that he had mild symptoms and would continue to work from home.

However, the condition of the politician deteriorated considerably; He and his wife Susan, who also had Covid-19, had to spend the past two weeks in the hospital. Wright had also had cancer for the past several years.
