Republican National Committee’s Debate Requirements and Creative Strategies to Attract Donors

STORY – The Republican National Committee has required candidates to have 40,000 donors, including a minimum of 200 in 20 different states, to participate in the first electoral debate. A binding condition especially for the less known or seasoned candidates, who had to be particularly creative to attract donors.

The Republican National Committee has imposed criteria to qualify for the first election debate in Wisconsin. Entrants must have 40,000 donors, including a minimum of 200 in 20 different states, and have reached at least 1% in three national polls or a mix of national and local polls. They must also commit in writing to support the winner of the Republican primaries.
