Improves the frame rate and overall performance.

  • Patch 1.0.2 for Star Wars: Republic Commando on the Switch improves frame rate and performance
  • Bugs related to the Joy-Cons are also eliminated

On the Nintendo Switch, the recently released Star Wars: Republic Commando unfortunately had a few performance issues.

That clouded the joy of the good, classic Star Wars first-person shooter a little, a new patch should now provide help.

Version 1.0.2 deals on the one hand with the frame rate in certain areas of the game, but is also intended to improve general performance and also solve a Joy-Con problem.

“There were a handful of areas where the frame rate was lower than expected, most noticeable at the beginning of level one,” the patch notes read. “There were also areas where the frame rate itself wasn’t affected, but the gaming experience wasn’t right.”

Better to give orders now.

“Fixing both of these was important to us, so the developers made additional tweaks. One of those tweaks included tweaking the way the game handled sound to free up more system resources for performance.”

“This had the added benefit of not only improving performance in areas where it was either low or feeling low, but improving overall performance throughout the game,” said Aspyr. So in the end a win for the entire game.

There remains the aforementioned Joy-Con problem. There were a few bugs here that caused the game to not display the correct keys for required interactions or not register when specific buttons were pressed on the Joy-Cons when the key assignment was changed.

In this respect, everything should now work properly.
