A New Mexico rattlesnake swallowed a mouse while it was in a mousetrap.
About it informed animal rescue Espanola’s Cottonwood Rehab on Facebook.
“When you think you’ve seen it all,” the post reads.
The photographs show the creature with a rectangular bulge in its abdomen.
The venomous snake was operated on and “rescued from its stupidity.”
Most likely, the device for catching rodents was not in the snake’s digestive tract for very long, because the mouse was whole when it was pulled out. According to Rattlesnake, this species takes three to five days to fully digest food.
Facebook users were relieved that the snake is doing well after the unusual incident, with one calling it “the happiest rattlesnake he’s ever seen in his entire life.”
Recall that the military is on the front line rescued a wounded red book bird. Veterinarians gave her a rare “name”.
