Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, announced the launch of 10 convoys For reproductive health From February 15 to 24, under the slogan: “Your Right to Organize”, with the aim of providing free family planning services and means for beneficiaries in villages and areas deprived of those services, as part of the President’s initiative “A Decent Life.”
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, explained that these convoys will be launched in the governorates (Assiut, Beheira, Qalyubia, Luxor, Gharbia, Sohag, Assiut, Aswan, Dakahlia and Sharkia) as part of the ministry’s plan to launch 60 free service caravans for reproductive health during the current year, in the villages that Included in the initiative, indicating that each convoy is scheduled to tour three villages in the same governorate during three days in a row.
For his part, Dr. Hussam Abbas, head of the Population and Family Planning Sector, said that the first five convoys will be launched on the 15th, 16th and 17th of February in the villages of Al-Atamna, Al-Hawataka and Bani Rafi in the administration of Manfalut, Assiut governorate, and Abdel-Salam Aref, Omar Makram and Kamal Salah El-Din in the administration of Badr “Al-Tahrir” Beheira governorate , Al-Ahraz, Al-Shoubak, Kafr Shebeen, in the administration of Shebin Al-Qanater, Qalyubia Governorate, Al-Rizeigat Bahary, Al-Mahamid Bahary, and Al-Shuhada are in the Armant Department of Luxor Governorate, and Al-Radwan, Hermes and Al-Mansouria in Al-Qanater administration, west of Giza.
He added that 5 other reproductive health convoys will be launched on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of February in the villages of Al Hajarseh, Al Kamil Bahary and Awlad Shaloul in the Sohag administration, Sohag governorate, Kom Al Mansoura, Al Maabdah and Al Salem Al Bahariya in the Abnoub administration in Assiut governorate, Al Manshia Al Gadida and Sabil Al Arab and Kufour Kom Ombo in the Kom Ombo administration Aswan governorate , Al-Dhahriya, Abu Jalal and Basat Karim al-Din in the Sherbin administration of the Dakahlia governorate, and Bani Abbad, Bani Shibl and al-Taybeh in the administration of Al-Kaniyat Al-Sharqiya governorate, pointing out that the caravan work is supervised through the central teams in the population sector, family planning, and supervision teams in the directorates and health departments.
Abbas stated that family planning services and means and reproductive health, especially long-acting methods, are provided by a group of trained family planning specialists and obstetricians and gynecologists to sign the medical examination and dispense family planning methods in fixed and mobile units, urban centers, public and central hospitals, and maternal and child care centers. .
