Between February 26 and March 4, an average of 6,066 new infections were detected daily, according to the latest update from health institute Sciensano. That is 9 percent less than in the seven days before.

There are still 2,069 patients with a covid infection in Belgian hospitals. In the past week, an average of 141 covid patients were hospitalized every day. Compared to the previous week, this is a decrease of 1 percent.
On average, 18 people still die every day from the consequences of a corona infection, a decrease of 26 percent compared to the previous period. Since the start of the pandemic, 30,296 people have succumbed to the virus in our country.
