After unconvincing financial results and canceled projects, Ubisoft decided to bet on its most popular brands including Assassin’s Creed. Newly, a full-fledged remake of one of the most popular parts of the action series with the subtitle Black Flag, which takes place in the 18th century during the golden era of piracy, should also fit into this strategy. According to available information, the remake of the game from 2013 is at the very beginning of development, so a release is not in sight at the moment. Considering the early stage of the project, unfortunately, it is not clear whether the creators will resort to a more modern concept of gameplay along the lines of Odyssey or Valhalla, or offer a more original concept, for example, with an emphasis on popular naval battles.

What makes the whole situation spicy is the fact that Ubisoft is still developing another pirate game – Skull and Bones, which was announced six long years ago. The project has gone through many changes over the years, changing the release date. For example, at a recent gaming conference, fans searched for it in vain, although according to available information, it should go on sale by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2024.
