So far, the Berlin Medical Association has received 278 patient complaints about irritating behavior by doctors in the pandemic. Mostly it is about advertisements because there is no mask requirement in the waiting room, said spokesman Ole Eggert on request. Sometimes patients were even asked to take off their mouth and nose covers. In almost 50 complaints, there were doubts about the exemption from the mask requirement. The certificates were not issued with the necessary care or were deliberately wrong, according to the suspicion.
In Berlin practices, however, doctors do not always support the recommendations of the Standing Vaccination Commission – and advise against immunization against Covid-19 in individual cases with misleading claims. Patients reported that they had been told it was vaccine against last year’s flu. But not all of them file a complaint straight away, because many appreciate their family doctors.
