The Emirati newspaper, “Al-Bayan”, learned that one of the two promoted teams to the ADNOC Professional League had signed the two stars Ahmed Khalil and Khamis Ismail.
Khalil had left the ranks of Al-Ahly youth (the Red Knights) since last January, when he terminated his contract with the club.
As for Ismail, he bid farewell to Al-Wahda (their happiness) at the conclusion of the last 2021-2022 season, as his contract at Al Nahyan Stadium expired.
Both players have a wealth of experience to be reckoned with.
Khalil wore the emblem of the Red Knights in two periods, and he also went through two short experiences with Al Jazeera (the pride of Abu Dhabi) and Al Ain (the leader).
The striker was one of the main pillars of the UAE youth teams under 17 and under 20, and then the Olympic team, before participating in 105 international matches with the first team.
The case is no different for Ismail, who moved between the Emirates teams (the Falcons), the pride of Abu Dhabi, the Red Knights and Al Wasl (the Emperor), before he embarked on his last adventure with their Excellencies.
The 32-year-old has played for the UAE national team on 74 occasions, and has previously represented the Olympic team and the U-20 youth team.
Al-Bayan expected that the coming hours would witness the official announcement of the deal, after that Khalil and Ismail would join the concerned team’s external summer camp.
