The New York Rangers are reportedly working on a lucrative long-term extension for forward Alexis Lafrenière.
Lafreniere, who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Friday, opened the season with a goal and an assist in Wednesday’s 6-0 win at Pittsburgh.
Drafted No. 1 overall by the Rangers in 2020, Lafrenière has tallied 150 points (76 goals, 74 assists) in 299 games since his debut in January 2021.
