Report on hygiene regulations: The goal cheering can only be grotesque

Football is about goals, everyone is united in jubilation – in the stands and on the pitch. But that’s forbidden in Corona times. Instead, there are probably recommendations on how players can celebrate. That could be funny.

When celebrating goals in the Bundesliga, according to the “Bild” newspaper, only “short elbow or foot contact” is allowed to restart the season. Cheering, clapping and hugging should not be done, the newspaper reported on Friday evening, referring to an internal paper (“Covid-19 organization circular special game”) of the German Football League.

If the season interrupted by the corona pandemic continues on May 16 with ghost games, the substitutions should also take place without the usual clapping, packs and spitting avoided. The arrival of the teams should be delayed, the newspaper writes. At the games there are no enemies, no mascots, no handshake when choosing a seat and no team photos.

The internal DFL paper further stipulates that all persons on the substitute bench must wear a mask; only every second or third place should be filled. “The trainer can remove the nose and mouth protection for calling instructions if he maintains a minimum distance of 1.50 meters from all other people,” quotes the “picture” from the letter.

Markus Gisdol, coach of 1. FC Köln, said, “The face mask will be there, but it will hang on your neck or chin most of the time. Of course, when I sit on the bench, I pull it up. But with a face mask coaching the line is not possible. ” The stay in the cabins was “to be kept to a minimum” – according to the DFL paper “30 to 40 minutes” for the individual player.

According to British media reports, in the event of a restart of the English Premier League, group cheers as well as swapping jerseys, spitting out and sharing beverage bottles should be avoided for twelve months.
