Less than two months ago, Bayern’s footballers raised the trophy for the Champions League winner over their heads, and then began a new season with confidence. They won 4: 0 against Atlétic – Coman shone with two goals, Goretzka and Tolisso added one by one.
Hansi Flick made only one change in Bayern’s line-up compared to the weekend victory in Bielefeld. Joshua Kimmich replaced Serge Gnabry in it, as a result of which Tolisso moved up and the Müller traveled to the edge. The defensive quartet remained with the same composition with a pair of extreme backs, including Lucas Hernández, who thus took on against his previous employer.
Diego Simeone made a much larger cut to the basic eleven. Tripipe and Savic were defensively supplemented by Felipe and Lodi, and not Hermoso and Sánchez. Only Koke remained in the reserve quartet, around which this time Llorente, Herrera and Carrasco entered instead of the trio Correa, Torreira, Lemar. This time in the attack with Suárez, the duo Diego Costa did not form, but the young Joao Félix.
The guests had the first chance of the match, which turned out very well. Only a few inches separated them from scoring, when Suárez tried to catch the ball into the goal in a slip. But then Bayern took the initiative, who wanted to confirm the habit of mutual matches, that the home team always wins. After a quarter of an hour, however, the goal construction prevented him from scoring joy. After a corner kick, the ball fell on Niklas Süle, whose call with his left foot bounced off the far post. Shortly afterwards, Coman urged Tolissa to score, who couldn’t pass the ball over Oblak from the left.
In the 28th minute, Kingsley Coman took over the attacking duties. He ran for the millimeter Kimmich’s pass, defended the famous processing and cleared the ball into the net along the goalie. Even before the break, the Bavarians added the number two hit. And again, Coman had his fingers in it, pulling the ball into the lime from the left, after which he transferred the game to Leon Goretzka in the fall. He processed the balloon with one touch and sent an elusive cannon in the direction of Oblak’s shrine with the other.
A few tens of seconds after returning from the cabins, the Madrid team managed to beat Manuel Neuer. After the middle from the right side line, Joao Félix headed from the volley into the goal, but the joy of him and other teammates was ruined by the border judge, who raised the flag due to the offside position of the shielding Suárez. Instead of reducing the difference in score, on the other hand, after three quarters of the game, it increased, out of nowhere. The defense at first managed to block Bayern’s shot, but only to Corentin Toliss. He moved the balloon a bit, then sent a long-range cannon, which ended up in the gallows of the Cloud Cage.
Then came another moment of glory for Kingsley Coman. Müller found him in the ramp on the right wing, after which the French winger dealt with the defending player with two jams and finished with an overview. In the match, he got on the balance of two goals and one assist.
Nothing worth more attention happened in the rest of the match, and Bayern stepped into the group stage. In the group, which also includes Lokomotiv Moscow and Salzburg, he has the only full number of points after the first round.
