The winter transfer window has only been open since the beginning of the year and yet FC Bayern Munich is already planning for the coming summer. According to information from Sky the German record champions could use it in the Bundesliga. So Munich’s eyes fell on Woo-Yeong Jeong from SC Freiburg. The special thing about it: According to the report, the current leader of the German elite class could make use of a buy-back clause anchored in the Korean’s contract in the event of a possible obligation. This – so it is said – is just under ten million euros.

Because the 22-year-old Jeong has a past with Bayern. Since 2018 he has played for the U19 of the German industry leader and later for the second team. In June 2019, the transfer to Breisgau finally followed, from where it was first loaned to Bayern again and then returned to Freiburg. Since 2020 he has been part of the extended permanent staff of Freiburg trainer Christian Streich. In the current season he was used in 20 competitive games and scored four goals. With Freiburg he is currently in a strong fifth place in the table after 18 Bundesliga games.

The Korean had only extended his contract with the sports club in December 2021, but apparently a transfer fee would not affect this, at least for Bayern. In addition to the Munich team, who are apparently supposed to discuss a possible return, several clubs from the Premier League and TSG Hoffenheim are also interested.
