Report 30 deaths from covid-19 and 2,088 new positives from coronavirus

In a new fatal journey in the battle against COVID-19, Dallas County Health and Human Services reported 30 deaths on Thursday.

In addition, 2,088 positives were given, an upturn in cases compared to previous days.

In total, the pandemic has 139,950 cases and 1,299 deaths. The deaths reported on Thursday ranged from 50 to 90 years old.

Meanwhile, the seven-day weekly average reached 1,117, which means there is a rate of 42.4 infections per 100,000 city residents.

Contagions in schools remain high. There have been 4,520 positives for covid-19 in the last month

According to the county, 534 infections have been related to extracurricular activities, including athletic activities.

There are also 101 outbreaks in nursing homes, the highest number since the start of the pandemic. In the last 30 days there have been 857 cases of coronavirus in these places.

In terms of hospitalizations, there were 800 patients in intensive care units and 552 people came to emergency rooms with symptoms of Covid-19.

The report also indicates that hospitals have several people hospitalized with complications after having COVID-19 and they are no longer isolated and, therefore, are not reflected in these numbers.

“These numbers are again a grim reminder of the need to sacrifice all of ourselves and of the patriotism of all as we work so that the community and the country are strong before the arrival of the vaccine and that once administered the so-called“ immunity of herd, ”said County Judge Clay Jenkins.

“Consider the mask and your smart decisions to avoid crowds, and social gatherings as the vaccine that is available for now,” concluded Jenkins.
