Given the corona situation, it could be difficult enough for Mick to make the leap into the premier class next year.
His problem: Because there are currently no Formula 2 races, he has no way of presenting and recommending himself. Of course, this applies to all drivers in the Formula 1 substructure. Helmut Marko has already warned ‘Motorsport-Total.com’ that Formula 1 status will be “cemented” if Formula 2 cannot drive this year .

Who else is on the list?
The Italian ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ also names Sainz as a possible candidate for the Vettel successor – but mentions two other names in this context. There is also speculation here about Daniel Ricciardo and Antonio Giovinazzi. At Ricciardo, the Ferrari rumors don’t come up for the first time, and Giovinazzi’s name as a Ferrari junior isn’t a big sensation either. But of course all these rumors should be treated with great caution, after all it is not even certain whether Vettel will really leave the Scuderia.

We have already reported that Sebastian Vettel should have been anything but happy with Ferrari’s first offer for a new contract in 2021.
