The Spaniard had replaced the control unit on Friday, with yet another change the maximum penalty arrives
It will be a French GP to be built in comeback for Carlos Sainz, forced to start from the back of the grid after replacing the fourth power unit on his Ferrari F1-75. After replacing the control unit on Friday, with a penalty of ten positions, the decision came from the Maranello garage to also put a hand to the internal combustion engine, turbo compressor, MGU-H and MGU-K, thus triggering the penalty and the last position for the Paul Ricard match at Le Castellet.

The last position on the grid will be shared with another Ferrari-powered, the Haas di Kevin Magnussen to which the same components of the Red single-seater have been replaced, also in this case at the fourth seasonal replacement.
The penalties were formalized by the FIA, with a communication sent to the two teams: “The internal combustion engine and turbo compressor used by Sainz and Magnussen are both the fourth of the three granted for the championship”.
