There doesn’t seem to be an explanation for why, but considering we haven’t heard from the game in a while, it’s not necessarily a surprise.

We haven’t heard much about it since then, but it was confirmed last year that it will be released in the second half of 2023. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be happening, as publisher Thunderful just released their latest quarterly report (thanks MauroNL), in which they moved the title to 2024. No further explanation was given as to why, but we’re assuming an official announcement of this delay will be shared soon, as the cat is out of the bag.
