Reperu vasara ’23” – Latvian Hip-Hop Express Festival at “Wondersal

Already this Friday, June 2, an ambitious open-air event “Reperu vasara ’23” will take place in “Wondersal”. It will be a one-day express festival where the diversity of Latvian hip-hop will meet on the big stage.

Roland če, Prusax, Wiesulis, Ods and Goča, the multi-headed rapper association “Kreisais Krasts”, the group “Olas”, Reiks, Denis, Elfs, EV and “Jaunā pagrīde”, as well as Kjuumanis and Prospekti will take part in the opening of the rapper season.

“This will be a celebration of domestic hip-hop, where we will meet in a large group to celebrate the success of this genre and open the season of open-air concerts,” says the co-producer of the event and the editor-in-chief of the Hiphops.LV portal Inese Grīnberga, aka Dorothy. “Visitors will have the opportunity to see Latvian hip-hop in its full splendor and diversity – the program represents both classical hip-hop values, “new school” and pop-hop. Rappers of different styles, united by a common dream of rapping on the big stage and on the radio waves. A dream that has become quite real for some time now. A genre in which mutual support and a strong commune have become the basis for joint growth and achievements that can no longer be overlooked or ignored.”

In a little more detail about the planned program, in its first part “Repa sprints” last year’s brightest hip-hop debutant Wiesulis, rap duo Ods and Gocha, rapper EV with the program of the album “Jaunā pagrīde”, as well as Kjuumanis and the hip-hop association “Prospekti” will take the stage. . The original beat program will be performed by Vader. In between, Reik, Dennis, Elf and DJ 24k will perform with a surprise “Halftime Show”. On the other hand, in the second part, Latvia’s largest and longest-standing association “Kreisais Krasts”, current leader of the streaming service charts “Olas” and one of the brightest names of the “new school” of domestic rap, Prusax, will perform. At the end of the evening, Roland Če, recipient of this year’s Latvian music recording of the Year award “Golden Microphone” in the category of best hip-hop album, will take the stage with a specially prepared solo program for the opening of the rap season.
