At dozens of GGD locations, you can now get repeat shots without an appointment. This was reported by the umbrella organization GGD GHOR on Friday. The GGD thinks even more venues will offer the jab crown without an appointment over the next week.
The shot can currently be obtained without an appointment in seventy locations across the country. “There are enough time slots available in those places to give extra people who haven’t made an appointment a chance to repeat,” says the GGD.
In other locations it is still too crowded for free admission. The GGD thinks it will change next week.
Injection without an appointment only applies to repeat injections of Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. It is however necessary to make an appointment for a first or second injection or for injections of Janssen or Novavax.
Since last week, all Dutch people 12 years of age or older can get repeat injection after having their first vaccinations (the basic series). About one in five people aged twelve years or older have had the repeated injection.
Repeated shooting should give the immune system a boost, so that people are better protected from the virus.
