The center for repair and maintenance of the Leopard tanks delivered to Ukraine has started work in Poland, the Minister of Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak announced on Twitter. “The repair center in Gliwice has started work. The first two Leopard tanks have already arrived from Ukraine at the Bumar plant,” he wrote.
Germany’s defense ministry announced on July 12 that Poland and Germany plan to jointly coordinate the repair of Leopard tanks that are involved in Ukraine. Der Spiegel magazine reported that the Polish state-owned company PGZ wanted to take over EUR 100,000 for an initial inspection of military equipment. In Germany, such a service costs only around 12,000 EUR.
In early July, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced the parties’ intention to resolve all differences on this issue within 10 days.
