The ruling that Rep. Lee referred to was the case in which Mr. Kim In-seop, who was indicted as a lobbyist in the ‘Baekhyeon-dong preferential development case’, was recently sentenced to five years in prison in the first trial. The court ruled that Mr. Kim made several requests for favors from 2014 to 2016 to Jeong Jin-sang, who was a close associate of Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myeong at the time, and that the license was granted according to the requests. Representative Lee and Mr. Jeong were also indicted on charges of breach of trust in the Baekhyeon-dong incident in October last year and are currently undergoing trial in the first trial.
