Zero to zero has to work out, which is why the Altenstadt/WN Main and Finance Committee is considering a rent increase for both the elementary and middle schools. The school association, which also includes surrounding communities, has to pay this rent.

Mayor Ernst Schicketanz presented the figures to the committee. For the elementary school school association (Altenstadt/WN and Kirchendemenreuth), the annual rent increases from 97,790 euros to 98,511 euros. For the middle school school association (Altenstadt/WN, Kirchendemenreuth, Parkstein) from 173,650 euros to 174,350 euros. The material expense for both schools is their school association and the municipality invoices them for the annual maintenance costs in the form of rent.

Treasurer Gisela Zetzlmann presented the quarterly report (September 30th). She made it clear that in addition to outstanding invoices for construction work, another factor was important. The problem child is the trade tax. Initially forecast at 2,070,000 euros at the beginning of the year, the previous inflows from trade tax advance payments are only 1.4 million euros.

Globally speaking, one will have to calculate with lower income and higher expenses for 2025. She cited the continuing increase in district levy as an example. Also on the agenda were the guidelines for club funding. This is a flat rate per club with set guidelines. “We look through our clubs every year to see whether any are leaving or joining,” said Mayor Schicketanz.

Clubs apply to be included in this funding. The global funding for this year is 7,250 euros. Special funding for any construction work has not been applied for.
