Renting a room in Murcia costs on average 244 euros per month | Radio Murcia

The study reflects that this price is 2.5% more than the price in August 2020, while the offer of rooms increased by 24 percent and the average age of people who share a flat in the Murcian capital is 31 years.

San Sebastián has ousted Barcelona in the last year as the Spanish city where it is more expensive to rent a room in a shared apartment, with 406 euros per month, according to a report published today by the Idealista housing portal.

Barcelona occupies the second position, with 395 euros per month, followed by Palma de Mallorca, with 376 euros and Madrid, with 370 euros, while the cheapest Spanish cities to share a flat are Ciudad Real (183 euros per month); Jaén (188 euros); Palencia (203 euros); and Ávila and Albacete (216 euros both).

Regarding the variation of these prices, down in most cities, the greatest decreases were registered in Guadalajara (9.6%); Madrid (7.5%), Lleida (7%), Malaga (6.9%), Jaén (5.7%) and Barcelona (4.9%).

The highest prices occurred in Ciudad Real (9.7%); Castellón de la Plana (6.7%); La Coruña (5.2%); Santander (4.2%) and Albacete (4%).

The supply of shared flats seems to have stabilized in the last year, since it only grew by 6% in general terms, although with notable differences between the different Spanish provincial capitals, the report explains.

In nine of them there are fewer rooms for rent available this August than a year ago, led by Barcelona, ​​where there are 29% fewer, followed by Albacete (-28%); Santa Cruz de Tenerife (-21%); Almería (-17%); Palma (-15%); San Sebastián (-11%); Valencia (-6%); Alicante (-4%) and Palencia (-2%).

On the contrary, the greatest increases were registered in Guadalajara, where the supply grew by 76%; followed by Gerona (71%); Santander (43%); Lleida (39%); Logroño (36%); Castellón (35%); Huelva (35%); Vitoria (32%); Granada or Jaén (31% in both cases).

In Madrid, the availability of rooms for rent grew by 21%.

People who share a flat in Spain have a similar profile to that of last year, although the average age has risen again to 33 years: they live in the center of large cities, they do not smoke or allow smoking in the home and they do not have or allow pets.

In most of the shared flats, men and women coexist (69%), while 26% have only female inhabitants and 4% only male.
