Rental and Sale Prices in Galicia: Growth Trends and Comparisons with the Rest of Spain

The rental price in Galicia has grown by 19% in the last four years, while the sale price has grown by 8.4%, according to the Idealista real estate portal.

In Spain as a whole, the rental price has increased, between February 2019 and the same month of 2023, by 11.4%, while the sale price has increased by 15.7%.

In more detail, the square meter has risen in A Coruña by 21.8% in terms of rent and 17% in sales. Thus, Lugo has suffered an increase in the rental price of 20%, in contrast to the sale, which decreases by 2.4%.

In this line, in Pontevedra the increase in rent is 8.6%, compared to 18% in real estate sales. For its part, rents suffer a significant rise in Ourense, of 25.7%, at the same time that they only do so by 1.1% in sales.

In the case of rent, the largest increase in Spain has been in Valencia, where prices have increased by 37.9% in these four years. Thus, it is followed by the cities of Alicante (35.7%), Huesca (35.4%), Castellón de la Plana (31.6%) and Teruel (30.4%).

Regarding the sale price of real estate, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital in which the price of housing for sale has risen the most in the last 4 years, with an increase of 29.3%. This is followed by Cuenca (24.6%), Palma (23.2%), San Sebastián (22.6%), Huesca (22.5%) and Málaga (20.4%).
