Police arrested a man with the initials MEL, perpetrator of female mutilations in a rented house in the neighborhood Bekasi, West Java. Police confirmed that the house was being contracted out under the name MEL.
“It is in the name of the person we are looking for (MEL) because apart from a house, it turns out that he has pensions, maybe like a place to stay and so on. We are still exploring everything,” Dirkrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi told reporters , Saturday (31/12/2022).
Hengki said police initially received a report that a man named MEL was missing. Later, the man was found to be staying in a rented house or guest house in the Tambun, Bekasi area.
“When we searched the place, we invited the guesthouse owner inside, it turned out that we found it very surprising to us, the investigation team. It was found that there were bodies in two shipping containers,” Hengki said.
Hengki said MEL’s rented house was empty when police found the woman’s body. He said his party had managed to prosecute the perpetrator who wanted to escape using a car.
“No (there is a culprit in the rental). So when we searched it, there were no suspects, but when we left, the team left the guesthouse, a car came but ran away, we immediately chased,” Hengki explained. .
“We chased it, finally we found several people, including the suspect, there were also women. We are currently exploring the motives and so on. So it’s still very early, very early,” he continued.
Up to now, MEL has not been named a suspect. Hengki said she wanted to confirm the facts.
“Yes, this is still under investigation. We will check later. I did not sign the suspect determination because we really have to rely on evidence,” Hengki said.
