– It is almost impossible to move these by hand. You have to use engine power, says Arne Bjørklund, operations manager in Viken county municipality.
He has a problem that increasingly steals time, resources and attention.
Ever since the end of January this year, it has only been allowed to cross the border between Norway and Sweden at manned border crossings with a test station.

Now, however, it may seem that corona fatigue is causing some to take the law into their own hands.
– The county roads towards Sweden are closed for one reason, namely because it is not allowed to cross the border. But in recent days, we have experienced several cases where the barriers have been moved so that it is possible to drive through, Bjørklund tells Børsen.

The border barriers consist of large car tires that are tethered together with a chain. Strong “harry” emergency call: Bønnfaller Høie
For Viken County Municipality, the problem has become so big that it is now the end of patience.
– When the barriers are moved, our operating contractors must move out to put everything back in place. It’s a little frustrating and really woody. They have a lot of other things they would rather spend their time on. In short, it is a very unnecessary use of time and money. We will therefore report all such incidents in the future, says Bjørklund.
