Renowned Sex Researcher Bente Træen Dies at 64 After Brain Hemorrhage

The well-known sex researcher turned 64, reports VG.

Træen was a sexual habit researcher and author and held the position of professor of health psychology at the University of Oslo, and a position she held before that at the University of Tromsø.

Cerebral hemorrhage

Bente Træen’s daughter Aurora Sofie Træen Sørensen wrote an open post on Sunday evening Facebook where she said that her mother had suffered a brain haemorrhage:

“Hi all. This weekend has been so surreal and painful. On Saturday morning my mother had a brain haemorrhage and is now in the hospital. The damage to her brain is too severe and my mother will pass away, blissfully unaware of what has happened.”

Great grief

Træen was, among other things, chairman of the Health Committee, a foundation that works for better sexual health.

“It is with great sadness that we have today received the death message that chairman Bente Træen fell asleep quietly today. Our thoughts and deep condolences go out to Aurora and August with family and friends,” writes the Health Committee in the post.

Bente Træen has for many years been a well-known face and voice, and has received a lot of attention as a sexual habit researcher.

In 2022, she published the book “Come to my innermost grind – tools for intimate conversations”, a book that will guide the reader through the essential conversations that every couple needs to create an extraordinary love life.
