The General Headquarters and Barracks of the 1st Company of the Placilla Fire Department were recently inaugurated, which was financed through the National Regional Development Fund, for an amount of 1.7 billion pesos.
The activity was attended by the Regional Governor, Pablo Silva Amaya, the National President of Firefighters, Juan Carlos Field, accompanied by the National Secretary, Valeska Acevedo; the National Treasurer, Rodrigo Muñoz; the Regional President, Juan Luis Fabia; the Mayor of the commune, Marcelo González; Superintendent Arnoldo Salvatierra; Firefighters, Cadets and special guests.
The Placilla Fire Superintendent noted that “today we gathered with great emotion to celebrate a significant milestone in the history of our city, the official delivery of our fire station. “This building is not just a physical location, but a tangible symbol of our unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.”
For his part, the National President of Firefighters added that “being here fills me with emotion. Without a doubt this region has been a leader in infrastructure management and that today takes shape in Placilla. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I come to greet everyone, authorities and Firefighters, for the work carried out, which allows us to hand over the keys to this Barracks, so that the Firefighters in justice do not spend another cold winter and that from today they are waiting for a new service in a comfortable place.
The Barracks has 2 floors, it has a machine room, office for the communications center, room for night guards, Men-Women, Superintendency Office, Director, Command and Captaincy, meeting room, dining room and kitchen, laundry room and locker area. In addition, it has a surveillance system and electric generator with supply capacity for all units.
“We are moving forward and making our dreams come true. Today, after 14 years, we see how Placilla has achieved its long-awaited headquarters, which will allow the firefighters to have a decent place to do their work,” said the Regional Firefighters President, Juan Luis. Fabia.
