The great poet Magdy Naguib passed away today after a struggle with illness, at the age of 88.
Today, the Society of Authors and Composers announced the death of the great poet in a statement, which said: “With great sadness and sorrow, the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers mourns the great poet, Professor Magdy Naguib, and the Board of Directors, members and employees extend their sincere condolences to his family, friends and lovers.”
The poet Magdy Naguib suffered a heart attack, and after his health deteriorated, he entered the intensive care room and left our world today.
The late poet, born in 1936, collaborated during his artistic career with major song stars, including the brown nightingale Abdel Halim Hafez, in his famous song “Kamil Al-Awsaf.” He also presented the great artist Shadia with her famous song, “Say to the eye of the sun, don’t protect me.”
With Mohamed Mounir, the late poet presented a number of songs, most notably: “Windows,” “From the First Touch,” “Laila,” “Oh My Boats,” and “Hawadit.” The artist Fayza Ahmed also sang the song “Al-Oyoun Al-Kawahil” and “I Take My Love.” Don’t worry.
