Pianist Polina Osetinska represents a generation of musicians that also includes pianist Yevhenii Kisin, violinists Vadim Repin and Maksim Vengerov – all of whom were once considered prodigies. Polina Osetinska gave her first concert at the age of six at the Lithuanian Conservatory in Vilnius. The pianist has studied at the Moscow and St. Petersburg conservatories, her albums have been released by record companies Sony Music, Naxos, Bell Air, Quartz and Melody. Polina Osetinska has participated in performances together with actress Ksenia Rapoport, musician Andreja Makarevič and writer Ludmila Ulicka. The pianist has performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Vienna Music Society Hall, London’s Barbican Center and New York’s Carnegie Hall, as well as many other venues in Europe, North America and Asia.
Polina Osetinska cooperates with symphony orchestras and expresses herself in chamber music. She regularly plays contemporary music – compositions by Valentin Silvestrov, Leonid Desyatnikov, Arvo Pert, Georg Peleč and Pavel Karmanov.
Recently, due to the public position of the musician, her performances in the largest concert halls of Russia are canceled, while smaller cultural institutions are declared as mines before the concerts – with the intention that the audience will get scared and disperse.
Last fall, Polina Osetinska gave a bright concert in the Great Guild, all tickets were sold. At that time, the program was broadcast in Riga Baroque music in world cinema masterpieces, which this time the artist will perform on May 18 in Daugavpils. In June, the musician will go to North America – program Baroque music in world cinema masterpieces will be heard by listeners in Toronto, Boston, San Francisco and New York. After that, Polina Osetinska will join forces with violinist Maksims Vengerov – they will perform in a duo in St. Poldevans, London, Chicago and New York. The concert will feature works by Klara Schumann, Johannes Brahms, Robert Schumann and Sergei Prokofiev.
