The “Grande Dame” of the organ, Elisabeth Ullmann from Zwettler, gave a concert last week in the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Graz.
Elisabeth Ullmann led the International Organ Festival of the Zwettl Abbey from 1983 to 2021. Her concerts on the Egedacher organ were legendary. After that, the artist, who lives in Vienna, shifted her performances and master classes to the international arena. But Corona soon forced a church music concert break.
As a guest at the Styrian Organ Spring, the renowned organist performed romantic organ music from France, Germany and Denmark. With the cycle “In Festo Corporis Christi” she commemorated the 100th birthday of Anton Heiller.
