This family in England is very lucky. During the renovation of the house, they found treasure in the form of gold coins very rare that is hundreds of years old. They also got rich for it.
During the excavation of the kitchen floor a small antique cup was found. To their surprise, it was discovered that it contained 260 gold coins which, according to investigations, date back to between 1610 and 1727.
“This was a completely unexpected discovery. The discovery of these 260 coins is Britain’s largest archaeological find, certainly the largest of the 18th century,” said Gregory Edmund of the auctioneer Spink & Son.

“Initially when the excavation was carried out, it was thought that the house was just an electric cable, but it turned out that there were coins under the kitchen and there were hundreds of them,” he added, as quoted by Antara. detikINET from the BBC, Wednesday (12/10/2022).
The coin was in circulation at the time King James I, James II and George II ruled in the British Empire. The original owners were most likely a wealthy merchant family of the time, namely Joseph Fernley and Sarah Maister.
The merchant couple died in 1700 and it remains a mystery why the highly prized coin was abandoned.
The auction was conducted by the couple who found it and, in total, this treasure has sold £ 754,000 or on the order of Rp 12 billion. They are also quite rich.
Fans treasure there are many from all over the world, namely collectors from America, Europe, Australia, China to Japan. The sales value was about three times the initial estimate.
