Renovation of Green Corridor Paths: Improved Technology and Amenities in Darmstadt

DARMSTADT. In the green corridor along the Main-Neckar Railway, the paths between Eschollbrücker Straße and Scheppallee were completely renovated and restored with improved technology. According to the city’s announcement, work has taken place over the past four weeks. The condition of the paths had therefore increasingly deteriorated. The renovation of this connection, which is important for walking and cycling, between the main train station and the publishers’ quarter and the homestead settlement makes the use of these paths attractive again. In addition, the benches and relaxation areas were completely renovated and provided with high-quality natural stone paving. In addition to the benches, it is now also possible to park walkers or strollers. The recreational opportunities for citizens have also been significantly improved, according to Michael Kolmer, head of the green spaces department. During the path renovation, attention was paid to sustainable materials and environmentally friendly construction practices. The road building material used comes from the region. The section between Scheppallee and Hilpertstrasse will be renovated after the bridge construction work at the main station has been completed.
