The renovation
In 2015, private to thoroughly refurbish the Binnenhof complex in one go. The historic building is a succession of buildings from different historical periods. The fire risk is high and the buildings suffer from major defects. In 2019, a fierce argument arose about the renovation plans. The architects recruited for the Senate and House of Representatives had to leave because the proposals were judged to be too drastic.
