RENNES. THE PLACE DU CHAMP-JACQUET WITHOUT BUS

The rue and the place du Champ-Jacquet take their names from the Porte Jacquet of the old ramparts which was located at the top of the rue Chateaurenault. A consultation will be carried out with the inhabitants to give a new face to this emblematic place where 600 buses pass per day. And you, what would you like to see on Place du Champs-Jacquet in Rennes?

With the arrival of the second metro line, buses will no longer pass through Place du Champ-Jacquet. After a consultation which will be carried out during 2021, it will be redeveloped thanks to an endowment of 3.4 M € in order to highlight its heritage of half-timbered houses and enhance its tourist appeal. Many hope that it will be the object of an imaginative and oxygenated restructuring and not just another of those neat places, with a soulless design, flanked by concept stores, co-working spaces and vaguely vegetal trees.
