The beginning of the pre-election period was marked yesterday afternoon by the head of the “Unity of Citizens of Nea Ioannina” and candidate for mayor of Ioannina, Thomas Begas, at the first gathering of the candidate municipal councilors of the faction.
The largest municipal faction of Ioannina, renewed but also more experienced, is heading towards the October elections independent, with a modern and updated programmatic discourse
Its goal is to “create a future” for the municipality and its citizens, as is its pre-election motto.
“We are the consensus faction, the faction that talks to society, listens to citizens and has clear, progressive positions for the future of our municipality. Together, all the candidates of “Citizen Unity, Nea Ioannina”, we must communicate our program throughout the municipality, in every neighborhood, in every village. After all, we believe deeply in this and we want our fellow citizens to judge us by our proposals”, emphasized Mr. Begas in his speech.
Then, he presented the main axes of the program, as well as the planning that exists for the faction’s pre-election activity.
A fruitful dialogue between the candidates followed, which culminated in the optimistic message of electoral victory at the October polls.
“There is no one left until the elections. All together we can with our program and positions bring our fellow citizens closer to us so that we can collectively create the future and give perspective for our country. A key component in this effort must be solidarity. One for all and all for each other. We start with momentum, confidence and a lot of work. It is in our hands, with the strength and faith in our team, to emerge victorious from this battle. Good fight and good luck to us”, concluded Mr. Begas.
New logo
A special moment during the event was the presentation of the faction’s new logo, which has been modernized to reflect the renewal of the “Nea Yannena Civic Unity”, which is moving forward on an evolutionary path in response to the contemporary needs of society.
In the new logo the union of “Epsilon” with “Pi”, the two initial letters of the combination, are presented abstractly and at the same time symbolize the point of union of the lake with the city itself, opening a portal to the future.
“In this way, we underline that the unity of the citizens is the necessary component for the path towards the future of our municipality. Because we, as we proved in the period we managed, will be the municipal authority of all the people of Ioannina”, emphasized Mr. Begas.
